The appearance changes only the diagram; detection always follows the events reported by the browser. Buttons 3 and 4 are shown as Back and Forward. Other buttons keep their raw number. Browser or driver shortcuts may intercept side buttons. Magic Mouse clicks and scrolling can be tested, but macOS gestures, finger count and touch locations are not exposed to ordinary web pages.
Good for
Check primary, middle, secondary, back, forward and additional mouse buttons together with vertical or horizontal scrolling.
Limits
The browser reports events, not the mouse model or its total button count. Driver shortcuts, system gestures and Magic Mouse multi-touch details may not reach the page.
